For me, a critical part of moving Knoxville Forward is protecting what we love about our quality of life.
A big part of what makes Knoxville special is our greenspace and natural beauty. While on Council, I supported the Urban Wilderness and worked to make our City an outdoor destination. We also created and began implementation of a bike infrastructure and greenway plan. As Mayor, I will work to see those plans realized and take them to the next level by connecting our greenways, so people can enjoy Knoxville’s outdoors and ride a bike to get to their destination.
Knoxville also draws people in for our amazing local arts and culture scene, world renowned music festivals like Big Ears, top notch museums, symphonies, operas, historic homes, Civil War sites, cultural events like Greek, Hola, and Kuumba Festivals, and the list goes on! As Mayor, I will recognize that parks and the arts not only inspire us and enrich our lives, but also play a critical role in the local economy and are essential in attracting the best and the brightest talent from across the country to our City.
