I believe in being a good steward of tax dollars, and I will use the experience I have gained on Council to make our government more efficient. And, many times there are common sense solutions that can help the City save taxpayer money such as the recent transition to LED lights. Improving our roads, fixing the potholes that damage our vehicles, installing new sidewalks or repairing existing ones, adding bikeways, and repairing our bridges make a tremendous difference in people’s everyday lives. I want to reimagine how city government delivers even the most basic of these services with a street-by-street assessment that identifies neighborhoods with the most needs and prioritizes delivery of resources.
During my time on Council, we created and began implementation of a bike infrastructure and greenway plan. As Mayor, I will work to see those plans realized and take them to the next level by connecting our greenways, so people can enjoy Knoxville’s natural beauty and ride a bike to get to their destination.
